The problem

Shop owners were running their businesses out of three spreadsheets and a banking app. Most only noticed a cash crunch after it had already arrived.

The approach

I spent two weeks behind the counter at six shops in Lisbon and Porto, then prototyped a single forecast screen that answers one question: will I be fine on the 1st?

The outcome

The beta opened to 1,200 shops. Weekly use held at 71% after three months, and support tickets about forecasting dropped by half.
